In July 2021, Spinwell were engaged by a high-tech Holding Company, based in Scotland that has 8 Subsidiary Companies with diverse specialisations.
The company had a requirement to recruit an experienced dynamic and competent CEO to pull together the 8 companies to create a merged offer and shift in market approach to enable them to successfully launch a new business to the market.
Due to the innovative and niche nature of the market sector, our client found great difficulty in finding candidates who possessed the right skills and experience to ensure success in the role. Discussions were therefore based around what we felt would not work within this sphere on the basis of technology and most importantly, the current people involved. The previous experience and input of a mutual colleague whom both the Client and Spinwell knew in regards to technology was key to understanding the soft issues involved.
In agreement with the Client, no initial advertising was envisaged, but the ability to discuss the conceptual nature of the goals and aims of the company were put to candidates and then related by both interrogation and question and answers from both sides, in a friendly manner. After appointing a successful client, we have maintained regular contact with the client and used the opportunity to discuss future plans and hires. By being part of the conversation, we have helped the client to understand hurdles that may exist from a personnel point of view and made ourselves a partner in their workforce planning processes.
